Like viewsat this is ARM CPU.I do not see any JTAG point of NANO2. So you should consider desoder the flash and program a good flash then solder back.

Viewsat ultra use a 200 MHz Connexant Processor which is similar to Nano2 processor. I know there are lots of files floating to jtag viewsat. Can I use any of those files on Nano2?

But the JTAG point for Nano2 is not exposed. How can you find those JTAG points?

here some info from ilink site when you try to convert Nano2 to Ilink

let me explain how it works
the loader does have a force load
however you really don't load nothing but to the ram
the boot decides to reject or accept the file that's loaded to ram
if accepts it than it writes it after it's been loaded to ram
if no you get an error message on the box
and get a good message on the loader
for apparently the loader is happy it completed the job and the boxis happy that you could not load the file

ejtag

Probably ejtag_tt would do it.
The file probably has a header id the loader looks for.

ejtag_tt is parallel port only,so get an old pc if yours doesn't have one.
It works with conexant processors but you need a buffered jtag that is wired to match the ejtag_tt program.

speed

Be warned that the program takes forever; to erase and program a 2meg flash around 1 hour. That is why a buffered jtag is a must.
Make many backups of the flash and compare with a hex editor to make sure they are all identical before you erase any flash.

I have a buffered jtag. currently I do not have any virgin or programmed flash for Nano2. I was just going to test if I could read the flash from Nano2. If anyone knows where to get 2meg flash for Nano2, I would be happy to start testing.

ejtag

Post by slugworth »

The ejtag pinouts are different,so a store bought jtag cable would have to be modified.
I have the diagram in my archives somewhere.
Notice they only use 4 jtag lines instead of the usual 5
