Help debricking a SBV5220

Post by random4102 »

Having no luck debricking my SBV5220, I believe the watchdog caught me and chewed my modem up!
Using the following as my reference:
http://www.usbjtag.com/jtagnt/sbv5120.php

Code: Select all

Rescue SBV5120. When box not fire up. Normal programming will not work. First need to program boot. No watchdog exist in this case
detect
ldram boot (Select proper boot file)
erase boot
sprogram boot (Slow programming)
reset
detect
ldram image0(Any tabes you have backed up)
program image0(Any tabs you want at normal speed)
Here is my attempt: (it always takes two detects to detect it for some reason)

Code: Select all

-detect
IDCODE 0000100F
TI TNETC4401
IMPCODE 21404000
EJTAG V1, V2.0
DMA not supported
Unknown flash type!
Report these values http://www.usbjtag.com/vbforum 4243,b137
-detect
IDCODE 0000100F
TI TNETC4401
IMPCODE 21404000
EJTAG V1, V2.0
DMA not supported
Found Address= 90000000 Intel 28F320C3
-ldram boot
C:/Users/*******/sbv5220/boot.bin loaded
-erase boot
Erase starts...
annnnnd.. Nothing happens???
so then I sprogram boot and nothing continues to happen

Code: Select all

-sprogram boot
Program Starts...
I let it sit for a long time on erase then just tried the sprogram to see if anything would happen and let it sit on that for a while. No progress

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

I have a full flash, wouldn't the full flash contain the boot??? Or is it in a different memory region. I am trying to debrick this modem then flash over a differnt SBV5220's full flash, that would be a copy/clone correct?

Here is a second attempt, I am not sure if it is considered 'bricked' because the lights do turn on. I can't go to the menu tho 192.168.100.1

So I am treating it if it is not 'bricked' even tho I can not do a thing

Code: Select all

Setup teamviewer and I can take a look.
If the boot is erased then it should not have the watchdog.
Sometime you might need to slow the JTAG clock.
