I read from GeoHot's blog, the guy of 19 years old who made the jailbreak to the Iphone cellphone, that he had access to the Playstation 3 with read/write access to the entire system memory. He said that he used some spi hardware.

That's not a JTAG point. You are pulsing that point at a certain rate to unlock some sploit in the system...
