4100 Will Not Verify

Post by cnr0616 »

I've got two 4100's, both with Intel TE28F160 chips. I have one working, and the other is not. If I backup the full flash on the working one, and flash the non working one the compare/verify function always fails. I have tried mutiple versions of a full dump other than mine with the same result.

If you notice the ERASE function seems too quick. I am using the USBJTAG NT.

Code: Select all

-detect
 IDCODE 0335017F
 Broadcom BCM3350
 IMPCODE 008009E8
 EJTAG V1, V2.0
 DMA supoorted
 Found Address= 9fc00000 Intel 28F160C3T
-ldram 9fc00000
-erase 9fc00000 200000
 Erase starts...
 Erase time 00:00:00 (.953)
-sprogram 9fc00000 200000
 Program Starts...
 Program speed 26.14 KB/s
 Program time 00:01:20 (.218)
Program pass, if no further programming needed, power off/on the target
-cmpram 9fc00000 200000
Compare data Failed address 9FC00000,target FF,PC memory 10
Could it just be a bad flash chip?

I would be interested to see this. Have not programmed the SB4100 for a long time. The erase is too quick. I will use read back function to see what is in the flash. BTW, which version of software do you use?

Working

This makes no sense to me, but it does work in the UJModem 0.15 software. By clicking on load, and writing all, the erase takes a few seconds, which it should, then it correctly flashes the firmware.

Using USB JTAG NT 0.26 I got the results posted in the thread before.

Purchase a USB JTAG NT from this site if you haven't already. Then start reading.

Looks no problem to me.
If UJmodem works for you then use UJmodem for now.
