Question I have sb4200 which has a milanesa chip and wont take program. I tried the amd way to bring it back but no luck. Any suggestions?

My 4200 wont get passed the 3rd light any suggestions. I tried to change macs and serial same problem.

Leave it be then. It needs to find out what channel and fequency the upload is. You can manually enter this if you go to http://192.168.100.1/config but if you don't know the channel and the fequency leave it be, it can take an hour or so depending on the veriables.

If it doesn't take after a few hours then start going WTF.

Did you check to see if it block synced before your flashed the chip?

Do you have another modem to test to see if it's your modem?

Another thing that can cause that is traps on the line. Some cable companies use traps to block chenels, and noise and such, and they stop the upload signal form going through the line. If you have a trap on there you should remove it.

I havn't tried it yet, but the sigma I was using kept crashing the modem under heavey load and durring gaming. If I was to get another 4200 I'd try that. Liked my 4200 better then the 5100 TBH, wish I didn't switch. the 4200 was a LOT more stable then the 5100. Have to reset the damn 5100 twice a day, the 4200 was every couple of days.
