just went to a payment canter to get hdmi boxes and they gave me two of these. DCH-3200 It has the m-card???

Here is the wierd thing. According to the diagnostics screen 5c is set to copy free for every channel that I have checked so far, including high-def. Probably gonna see If I can see them with tsreader or vlc. My dvr will be my PC's hard drive.

My question is: Is it safe to assume these are jtag(able) since they are hdmi?
If not what excuse do I use to need certain boxes?
