To backup just select all flash memory tab and click read. Or use command
"getram 0 100000"

I will start to looking at un-package the firmware and see what we can do to it.

As of the pin connection, the pins to the flash chip is the same as SB6120.
The ISP pin can use TUNDRA's one. It is on the pin5 of chip U104. (one small 8 pin chip about 3 cm left to the flash chip (if you view the label of flash chip properly).
Is the DPC3000 you have a 16MB Flash? I have seen 2 different DPC3000's and Both have Same size Flash and Both I programmed Using the SB6120 As Target and Had No Problems Doing so. That why I ask to see Picture of MOBO. On the New Style the ISP PIN is Not the same asthe Picture I Posted Pin5. and the Plastic Case is Dark Gray Not Black as the First DPC3000's

Yes. My mother board has 16M flash.
I know it can program the SB6120 firmware. But it is 16M flash it has a lot more room to put in programs like asterisk (if anyone is interested in it). Look at the xml I posted and it has the 16M all defined.

Still waiting on that post with pics to answer all those questions usbbdm....hehe:rolleyes:

Also does this modem have a webgui @192.168.100.1? I can not seem to access it but have only plugged her up for a minute before I was sidetracked by the family. I will set static and try again...it is not modded.

Yes it has 192.168.100.1 UI. The pictures should be similar to SB6120 but if you think it is absolutely needed to have a pic I will see if I can make them sometime. I thought it is as clear as the SB6120.

Like USBBDM Said Yes. But If you Put Alpha Firmware , Access to the webgui is gone. Unless you clone it to SB6120 With Alpha, Then you will still have access to 192.168.100.1. ;)

Awesome, I haven't:D been here long but I already love it here. Thank you usbbdm for that page it IS a great help.

Also TUNDRA you are the bomb as well.

I have the same board as pictured. I will be connecting to this bad boy soon to back up. I may clone to 6120 just to have gui but then I wont learn all the cli stuff so catch 22 I guess.

Either way you guys have been a GREAT help in making things clear for me....THANK YOU! I will keep this thread updated with the progress.:D

ok question...if 6120 uses the following commands and is an 8mb flash

Backup firmware
getram 0 800000
save 0 800000

then why not use the following for dpc3000 with 16mb flash???

Backup firmware
getram 0 1600000
save 0 1600000

Why are we using
Backup firmware
getram 0 1000000
save 0 1000000

Is there some extra space or what am I missing?

Cool. Theres a New Board Out thats also a DPC3000, However Borad is a Bit Bigger in Size and the ISP point Is not the Same as the One Pictured. I have yet to Find it, However By suppling 5 volts to Pin 2 Of SPI Chip I was able to read and Load Firmware to It with No Problems.

In case you want to fully restore back the 16M of DCP3000 you need that right command.
Not it is 100000 not 160000

The traget will only be available in NT software and Not in UJModem Software Untill you Add it Along with the New Netgear XML Correct?
