Lost my premiums...

Post by zilvova »

Here is the situation:
I made a backup from my opened PH7 DCT 20000 for another PH7 DCT 20000 which I wantedto use in my basement but I cannot make that other box to work - I have all the chanells from 1 to 99 but after that NOTHING.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong???

Connect USBBDM
Reset 1
INIT
FLSHDCT code (received message found address...)
LDRAM nvram (selecting saved nvram file from original box)
LDRAM code (selecting saved code file from original box)
SETRAM nvram (process started)
PROGRAM 406000 ba000
Erase starts...
Program speed
Time
Program pass, if no other progr. power ON/OFF

After that I went to DCT2224 testing

Firmware Test - selected all options

Box is connected - but no premiums...

PLEASE - can someone help me here. What I am missing???

Thanks!

To use the firmware testing options you need to select them beore writing the firmware to the box. Those options alter you code and then need to be loaded on to the box.

You will only be able to activate the second box with analog channel, clear digital channels and any premiums if it still has the correct encryption keys for. You won't be able to activate any new channels on the second box.

I already have all the analog 1-99 channels on the second box...
I thought you can clone the second box using the subscribed box:confused:
So what is the purpose off all these NVRAM requests?

You can't regain lost channels. The nvram requests are to get your local channel map, it should also get the tv guide app.

Understood. Thanks.

I have one problem - my box lost all the channels/guide & menu. The only channel I am able to get is public #97 - before that I had all 99 channels+full guide. I tried to put back again original code + nvram but nothing - same result.
Is is possible that I erased something? Any ideas how can I get it back?
Do I need to look for another code + nvram - it is DCT 2000 PH7

Setup logmein and I can take a look remotely. You only need to put the original NVRAM back and all the channels will be back.

What happens when you write the original code and nvram? Try writing the channels back with the box disconnected from the cable. After that reset the box and see if the channels are there before you plug into the cable. The plug in and see what you have.
