Another SPI hack thought.

Post by usbbdm »

This was stimulated by satellite ROM emulator.

I am going to write a small firmware that will do the folloing.

1 A legal box B in the SPI listen mode.
2. Connect box A's serial port to B's serial port.
3. Modify A's firmware so that all the command to A's XC chip goes to serial port.
4. B listen serial port and send to XC chip and send back to serial port.
5. A fake the XC respond from serial port.

Will I get all the channels that B has? If yes then a emulator from a PC can generated?

Very interesting idea.

This could work. The DAC may use the responce data to generate an authorization sequence that the XC chip can decipher. Of course this would mean that the patent design assumptions I made are not correct.

Great innovative thinking usbbdm.
