dead box?

got a 2224 with ph7 board
box does not stay on
when it powers on u see 4 dashes on display then as the digits start to display it flickers and reboots
and this process goes on and on

when i connect the bdm cable nothing hapens on the display just blank
cable shows connected but bdm is off

i had written to this box b4 and have gotten reads of code off it and spi commands logged

how do i repair this box get it going again?

been a while since i had been here
I got it to read the box
did a reflash of nvram and code
then hookd to cable and no guide or gui
waited a while and reciever reset and now updated fw to 796 and then guide and gui came in. all woking and connected
BUT
now all prev authed chans gone
i had no deauth fw on it b4 it got craped out

got a spi log when it got authed and played it in comander and got commands sent but dont think they did anything as box still in same state??

does box need certian fw to take command? does it need to have no deauth taken off?
how is this done? i have no backup of 7.96 fw, do i just write test fw with nothing checked?

any walkthrough doing auth playback and commands in bdm and commander and cable hookup

were dd all the fw downloads go?

ahh i see now that no fw but allows testing of your own fw in the bdm app
been a while since i been here

BUT

cant seem to get the auth playback to take??

fw is 793 with my old nvram from over a year ago
now cc using 796 and updating boxes and maby nvram too as my guide disapears
then box reboots ect and then all guide is fine
process takes a while

box went all screwy a long time ago with acab fw on it and i never got around to fixing it till now

any help apreciated

If you can not watch channel (ENC), your XC chip does not have the right keys.
1. Could be deauthed while you update the firmware (default no fake UID).
2. Could be your CC has changed keys.

If you have SPI logged while AUTHING, (authxx.bin is not empty), you can play back to the box and XC chip will be the same as before.

yup
problem is evrytime i do playpack in comander i see a buch pf cpommands scroll the screen adn finish but box still in same state,. not auth on all the sub chanalls

tried with original id as i never changed that
thats why fw prob got updated and i lost all the chans

so with original fw 793 and id with old nvram and no effect
tried with updated 796 fw also no effect

hooked up serial cable and bdm to box
used usbbdm software and spi command
then used spicommander and used -play comand and selected auth00.bin that was 7kb in size that was created during auth
and comands scroll the screen for a few seconds then i try on tv and still in same status of not authorized??

its possible they roll keys, there was a post were tells you how to check if they roll keys on your system by chiper
spi is not for beginners..
spi dosent guarantee anything
spi is testing purposes.....

do i need to have old fw were it was authed on on the box or use newer fw that box was updated to and when it got deauthed?
what about nvram use old nvram when box was authed or newer nvram that got updated nvram i think happened when guide went missing and appeared after a hour.

ive tried spi play a for a few days with no luck
want to make sure im not missing something

also if i get another boxe authed. i capture the commands
block auth commands after thant and always on.
i never changed my unit id so ill do that this time
with all that i should be fine
fw wont update again?
what about vod it dont seem to do anything when pressed?

On DCT2224, play SPI command do not need to program any special firmware. It runs a small program in the ram. Please follow the instruction once you click the SPI command.
