Basic setup help for DCT2224

Post by Justadude »

Hello...

I've been a Satellite subsciber for years, and recently went to Digital Cable (Expanded BASIC cable). I just hooked up the cable box from the cable company (DCT2224) and discovered that I have ALL the premium channels. Every single one.

Now, here's my question...

First off, I am new here, and some of this stuff is very confusing, as I surf this site. I want to be able to keep the premium programming, but I am confused about how to fake a UID, ect...

Try not to be too technical on me please. All this is new to me. I am not a techno wizard, but I am reasonably good at figuring things out with decent instructions.

So what is my best bet for keeping the channels my box is allowing right now? I really don't want to use up hours of searching this forum, because I am a very busy person.

Also, I sent away fro one of those "Digital Cable Filters", the ones that allow you to see PPV, but block the output back to the CC. How does one go about blanking the memory for this exact model box?

Sorry for the Newbie questions. But like i said, I just don't have the time to wade through all this info, to glean what I need for my situation.

Thank you! :)

BTW... I looked inside the vent holes, and the unit is a PH8.

Re: Unplug RF IN cable

As fas as I know, you just completely unplug the RF-IN cable, and hook up your cable feed directly to the RF-IN and it wont talk back to the CC. Once you bypass the RF-IN, the box cannot see the CC, and vice versa.
