Do I need the cable turned on?

This is my first box. Testing a 2244 local exsubbed box. I have a cable conected and have the guide and free channels. I have not called the CC yet to get channels turned on. Tried to jtag the box. It gets the codes and I can save them. If I try to get the flash or change the ID I get the codes posted below. Is that because I need to have the CC cable turned on or should I be able to get this info ?

Firmware Test 07.96
Firmware 07.96 does not seems to loaded into memory.
The firmware has to start from address 0x400000.
You might need to flip the firmware for some old boardsIf so what is wrong?

you need the usbbdm for a dct2224/2244 not the jtag.

if you do have the bdm then try turning it the other way. maybe you hooked it up backwards.

yes it is a usbbdm.
I think it is hooked up right but will try it the other way.
Should I still be able to read the info if the box is not connected to a subscribed cable line?

Yea, It works a lot better when you type in the code right. I was leaveing out the number one after reset. So now that answers my question, yes you can use the usbbdm jtag even if the cable is not on. Thank you Tester5
