Connect the Box?

Connect the Box?

What does connect the box option do? is this neccesary to get the box working?

If the cc turned the box off but left the xc chip active then this will restore operation to the box. Box will only be capable of receiving channels it had previously. If the cc changed their encryption keys then the encoded digital channels will be lost as well.

It depends on whether if the box was connected or disconnected from the cable feed when it was de-activated. If box was still connected to the cable feed, that means everything in the XC chip will be GONE. Even if you connect the box again, you will NOT get the previous channels. In order for you to get all previous channels, the box must be disconnected from the cable feed BEFORE it was de-authorized from the CC.

okay. so that means that i will probably have to find a bunch of boxes before i get one that still has a good XC chip. most ppl probly leave their box connected to the coax after they cancel figuring they might as well watch tv while they still have it.
