YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Post by IraqWarVet03 »

I was introduced to this site by a good friend.
i have a few questions though..

My goal is to clone my existing cable modem MAC address into another cable modem.
run both into a switch and then into my system.
getting 2x speed to the computer with one mac address. cable company only sees one ip.

are these assumptions correct? my goal is to get fater connection . is there an easier way?

what cable modem should i buy from motorola to modify out of the model here. whats best?

i really appreciate the help and the answers. i am very new to all this.

thanks again..

You will not be able to clone your own mac as this will cause a mac collision ,resulting in the modems going into a continuous reboot cycle , you need to scan for macs from a different node to yours and use them , the most suitable modem would be a SB 5100

i read about maximizing the speed.. do i just need one modem or 2
why is the 5100 the best?

and how do i get other MAC address?

im still confused as being able to get REALLLY fast speed using ONE modem or do i need 2+ using a switch?
