The only thing I am having a problem with is finding this CFE.dll file. Is this really needed?

Thank you.

i also have the same problem with a WRT310N V2

Broadcom Part NotFound 00A8
IMPCODE 00000130
EJTAG V1, V2.0
DMA supoorted
Unknown flash type!
Report these values http://www.usbjtag.com/vbforum f000,c007

i belive the reason is that the chipset is a hynix in the v2 of the 310 also its 4M

here is the info on the v2

Serial Num. = CSF11
FCC ID = Q87-WRT310NV2
CPU Type = Broadcom BCM4716B0KFBG CS0908 P20 E10186 N1 (BCM4716B SoC)
MIPS Rev = R2
CPU Speed = 300MHz
Bus = ?
Flash Type = Serial
Flash Chip = ?
Flash Size = 4MB
Max Firmware Size = 3801088 bytes
RAM Size = 32MB
RAM Chip = hynix HY5DU561622FTP-D43
nvram Size = 32kb
Switch = Broadcom BCM53115SKFBG (BCM53115)
Port-based vlan = ?
802.1q vlan = ?
Ethernet Port Count = 1-10/100/1000-WAN 4-10/100/1000-LAN
Wired Standard = IEEE 802.3/3u/3ab
boot_wait = ?
bootloader = CFE
Flash Card Socket/Type = No
SD/MMC Mod Support = No
MiniPCI slots = No
PoE = No
Power = 12V/1A
Color of LEDs = ?
Size = 8.0" x 6.3" x 1.3"
USB = No
Serial Port = Yes
JTAG Port = Yes

how can i get this to detect

This could be the memory map issue. IR length might also be a problem.

I'm trying to backup a Cisco Valet Plus, which is supposed to be the same as a WRT310N. I'm getting similar results as well. Here's the output:
[INDENT]Copyright (C) 2010,2011,2012
USB JTAG NT 0.58
Target: WRT310N
-detect
IDCODE 000A817F
Broadcom BCM00A8
IMPCODE 00000130
EJTAG V1, V2.0
DMA supoorted
Unknown flash type!

This is the output when hooked up to the JTAG pins. I tried reading the SPI flash directly, but I appear to have bricked that one. I have another unit, and the output is the same (JTAG pins, I'm hesitant to try hooking up the SPI flash again :rolleyes:).

The flash chip is MX 25L3205D

I have not tested WRT310N V2 myself. So I am not sure what the problem could be.

Is this JTAG but with SPI flash? That will be interesting to add.

Yep, check your pms for a picture. I lifted the flash, and out of circuit it reads and writes perfectly well. In circuit it won't ID, and is really easy to brick...
