i also have the same problem with a WRT310N V2

i belive the reason is that the chipset is a hynix in the v2 of the 310 also its 4M

This is the output when hooked up to the JTAG pins. I tried reading the SPI flash directly, but I appear to have bricked that one. I have another unit, and the output is the same (JTAG pins, I'm hesitant to try hooking up the SPI flash again ).
The flash chip is MX 25L3205D
