USB JTAG NT reset toner chip 24LC04

Post by usbbdm »

I have a Samsung SCX-4200 which says the toner empty but prints perfectly. The report says CRU Prints : 1605 (452918171)[1885824]{0%}. After taking apart the toner and found it uses 24LC04.
I then hook up the USB JTAG NT with it and after several tries, I have successfully reset the counter and it now prints
CRU Prints: 0 (0) [0] {100%}.

I am not sure if this method applies to other toner chip.

Since I use quite long wire, I set the the clock to 3MHz.

So the chip info was not encoded//? Just used a hex editor and rewrite it back after modification? How big was the dump.?

It was not encoded. I have another chip to compare. I just use NT software's built in hex editor to erase the data.
