Hi there,
ok, i did the following:
1) installed my usb ttl and it's respective drivers.
2) connected the 3.3v to the sbg901´s vcc (according to the diagram below)
3) opened the usbjtag nt software
4) plugged in the usbjtag nt
5) clicked on the ID button and got this:
-flshdct 0
Unknown flash type!
Report these values http://www.usbjtag.com/vbforum 00,00,00
Rest assured that connections are perfect. in fact i can detect it the chip if do the following:
Diagram that i'm using:
Could it be that i simply can´t use 3.3v on this modem?
many thanks!
ps. according to the DATASHEET: VCC = 2.7~3.6V
PPS. the usb ttl has a red light, should it change colors? I have it hooked up to another pc with the drivers properly installed and operating on com port 4

I have my usb ttl and usbjtag connected to 2 separate computers.
The reason is because if I connect both of them to the same computer, I get some kind of error saying that the device isn't regonized. Now when I connect them on two separate computers, no errors, no problem.
I currently have usbjtag pin 2 connected to flash pinout 10.
Are you saying that I should disconnect usbjtag pin 2 and flash pinout 10 and replace it with:
ttl ground to flash pinout 10 ??
Thanks a milllllllllion

Both devices need to be grounded, either with each other or on the device itself.
If they are connected to the same computer you only need one grounded, because they both will be sharing the ground of the computer they are connected to.
Just connect the ground of the ttl to a ground on the usbjtag or the modem (if you cant find a point or connect 2 grounds to the chip you can always ground to the tuners shielding)

ok, I'm still going at it.
Here's what's going on:
If I run usbjtag nt on my notebook pc , no problem
If I plug the USB ttl into the Same computer, no problem
If I use usbjtag nt software + usbjtag net + usb ttl, then I get some kind of error on my pc. I imagine there must be some kind of conflit.
So here's my 2nd option:
Use usbjtag nt + usbjtag nt software on one pc
use usb ttl on another pc.
Windows is giving me some kind error when all 3 things are being used (USBJTAG+SOFTWARE+TTL)
Maybe it's because of the USB ttl's ground?
At this moment I have usbjtag pin 2 (ground) connected to flash pin 10 (ground)
So in a nutshell, you're saying that I must also connect the USB ttl to either the USBJTAG PIN 2 or flash pin 10. In other words a 3 way ground connection between usbjtag usb ttl and flash.
Sorry for being a pain in the ass.
Cheers

Ok I'm trying to connect both the USBJTAG & TTL to one PC.
This is exactly what going on
jtag-----------------flash
Pin 3(TDI) --- Pin 15(SI)
Pin 5(TDO) ---Pin 8(SO)
Pin 9(TCK) ---Pin 16(SCK)
Pin 11(RESET) --- Pin 7 (CS)
Pin 2(GND) ---Pin 10(GND)
usbttl 3.3v --- pin 2 (VCC)

The results were the following:
https://mega.nz/#!rQMVQDQS!hE8QIHF3GgLd ... FRyXucRlak
Now if i hook up 5v instead of the 3.3, the modem's lights turn on and i don't have that windows error but i still can't get the usbjtag to ID the chip.
Now what does seem to work is the use of jumpers:
https://mega.nz/#!HRUCkThC!qY2yKOByxyWs ... qF2k-rQEn0
But, as you can see I'm not using usb ttl. (my objective is to use usb ttl)
Also, keep in mind that i did not ground the usb ttl because the usbjtag is grounded as you can see in the 1st photo.
I think im going crazy.
