why doesnt block aplication update work?
I want to use v7.96 since its the only one that doesnt lock up my box.
I set connnect, change uid, set block app upgrades and channel updates.

Still the cc is able to update firmware, and my box freezes up, wont let me change channels.

Whats going on here? I would like to use the newer fw and nvram, or just use the old fw and no tvguide. can you tell me why my boxes freezes or why the cc is still able to update firmware?

Block software update is NOT let the CC to update your box. But you still need to program the box to match the version of CC to let the box work. So it is perfectly fine so far until you program the newer version of firmware.
