Possible bug.
ezb73 had found that on some DPC2100, the NT software cannot program it in faster mode and I had confirmed that via remote support. Slow programming works file. It is AMD flash. He then sent me the modem and asked me to take a look. Yesterday I hooked it up and found it seems to have a problem. I will investigate this issue and if this is a bug I will fix this and release a newer software. I might also need to fix this in Ujmodem (not confirmed yet).
One little new feature in 0.57 will be clear screen button. (Same function as "cls"). Sometime you need to clear the screen when there is quite a bit of output and I have found not many people use "cls" to clear the screen.

YES, I know USBBDM is Against that Practice However in certain Modems I find it works Best, Specially the D3.0 Modems. If i don't let it boot I notice it gives trouble to detect flash, I let modem Boot then connect JTag and I can detect with no Problems. I been doing so with my UABJTAG NT since i got it and Never have had it Damage my Tool.moddog wrote:Just to confirm hot plug?

OK. I found the issue. It is NOT the bug of the software.
Either the boot rom is bad or something related. The RAM seems can only be read/write in half word.
The faster programming for MIPS needs target ram to be buffered as data (small code). Since we cannot access the RAM and thus it cannot load the code to do the programming.
So it is not a bug of the software.
To program this device you can use the definition as SB4200 (in the xml add section of
<DebugMem>0</DebugMem>) Then the program will work just fine.
If you do use the SB5101 configuration, then you need to only use "erase" and "sprogram".
Here is some output of the peek command (ram)
Time 00:00:00 (.136)
-peek 82000000
Peeked Address=0x82000000 Data=0xFFFFFFFF
-peek 80200000
Peeked Address=0x80200000 Data=0x80438043
-peek 80200004
Peeked Address=0x80200004 Data=0x10201020
-peek 80200008
Peeked Address=0x80200008 Data=0x00000000
-peek 8020000c
Peeked Address=0x8020000C Data=0x20012001
-peek 80200010
Peeked Address=0x80200010 Data=0x00200020
-peek 80200014
Peeked Address=0x80200014 Data=0x00000000
-peek 80200020
Peeked Address=0x80200020 Data=0x00000000
-peek 80200200
Peeked Address=0x80200200 Data=0xB1FBB1FB
Notice all the data of high words are the same as low words. That is why it cannot be programmed using faster mode.

I always Use SB5101MOD to do the DPC2100 R2 And Have never had an Issuse Programming with Normal Speeds. Liek you SAID, Its NOT a BUG in the SOFTWARE, I think its a Bug in the User. LOLusbbdm wrote:OK. I found the issue. It is NOT the bug of the software.
