I tried this my usbjtagnt doesn't detect it but when i try it on my sb5101 it reads fine. probably it is defctive that it can only read ejtag and not spi.

SB5101 Use ONLY the first 10 Pin's Not Pin 13. So you may have a problem with the reset Pin Or your connections......

There are some extra pins used for XBOX. If those pins are burnt, then you cannot read SPI while EJTAG might still work.

Usually this is caused by User error when soldering the wires. Not to say there may not be a bad jtag here and there but I am sure they are checked before shipping...............

If it is new it is less likely the issue of the hardware itself. Can you try on a 3.0 modem for SPI read?

don't have spi modem no more just an xbox 360

SB5101U And Ambit256 are D2.0 Modems with SPI Flash....

I'm pretty sure I checked over and over about 5-7 times still same resort. unless the diagram link above is incomplete or wrong.
