Sonicview HD had been received.

This is to recognize people who had donate their device for testing.

I am actively working on it and getting some result. However, time is still limited. Hope I can have more time on it during the holiday time.

The information I get is from the ST document and some forum. So far I can get HUDI response. The basic peek/poke have not working yet but I am heading the right direction.

I am also getting Sti5202 (ST40) boxes to test. This will be arrived on January.

A major break through to thus project after long reading.
The TRAP mode can now be done. It is a matter of time to complete this support.

I got other ST40 targets.

Based on STi5202. Compatible with STi7109.
This is an IP TV standard. Small box. Same St40 JTAG port was populated.

I can peek the target now. I am making fast data read. I need a good simple assembler. I know VS2008 has one Shasm. The one in Linux had some issues.

Just did slow memory backup (about 42KB/s).

However, before I backup the boot sectors was erased. (B600V4).
I will soon add slow programming to the ST40 and that will recover this unit.

Same thing happened to Sonicview HD box. the boot sector was erased. I need someone email me a good backup.

catch22

sounds like a catch22-you need a working jtag to get a good backup to send.
unless somebody removes the chip and reads it with a programmer.

If anyone wish I can send the current version to do a backup. (Not fast yet though).

After a few days, now I can read at around 77KB/s. I think this one can go up to 200-300KB/s read speed. That will be comparable to MISP JTAG.
Still quite a lot of work to do. I do not have a good assembler and have to manually write assemble code based on the instruction table.

Flash detection is done. If it is not for fastest speed, the slow programming should be finished in a few days.
However I am still trying to get the fastest speed possible. So it might take a little longer.
One of the options is to release a version that is not fastest and then release another version that do the faster programming.

STi 71xx has four core and to program the flash you have to select the ST40 core to JTAG. The protocol is completely different than ST20. It is similar to Hitachi SH4 core and I hope that JTAG NT can automatically support SH4 core.

You should have noticed I have not released new software for a while due to this ST40 development. Actually during this period time, there are several improvement done.
1. Now the category can be expanded through xml file. Not hard coded. If you have your own category you can create one. (I create one called IPTV).
2. A better language support, (unicode directory now supported). This is found while support a Chinese user who always get file load error and turns out he is storing files under Chinese named folder.
3. Configuration can be done through command. eg. "config sb5101" will automatically switch to sb5101 target.

I will keep on posting this thread and in a few days I should know if a slow speed will release first or wait for a faster speed release.

I am working on stability and speed. The IPTV box and Sonivciew are both bricked and that will increase some difficult of development but it helps to get the software done for debrick from day one.
