DPC3000 NOT Detected

Post by cheeto »

Hi folks,
I'm trying to flash my DPC3000.
I followed the diagram that is found on this webpage: http://www.usbjtag.com/jtagnt/modem/dpc3000.php

As you can see in the photo below, the connection is perfect.
The wires inside the hooks are perfect. However when i try to detect it, I'm getting this error:

Unknown flash type!
Report these values http://www.usbjtag.com/vbforum ff,ff,ff

To verify if my USBJTAGNT is working properly, I successfully did a full backup of a dpc3825 and an sbg901.
I also tried different computers but the results are the same, and I use a USBTTL, nothing seems to be working with this DPC3000.

Has anyone had this issue?

You should also verify your USB JTAG NT can read any SPI flash chip. SPI programming needs a few more pins as regular JTAG. If youc an read SB5100 does not mean the NT can read SPI flash.

Hi there,
Sorry if I wasn't clear. As a test, I did an spi on a sbg901 and a dpc 3825 and it worked perfectly fine (detected and made a backup). So I'm very convinced that the jtag us working fine. However I can't get it to detect the dpc 3000. The connection is perfectly fine too.

Any ideas?

Ok, I might have solved it.
I was able to detect it.

Solution:

swap the ground for the spi and it will detect and flash without issues.

Pin 2(TRST) -----> ISP. Pin5 of U104
Pin 3(TDI) -----> Pin 15(SI)
Pin 5(TDO) -----> Pin 8(SO)
Pin 9(TCK) -----> Pin 16(SCK)
Pin 11(RESET) -----> Pin 7 (CS)
Pin 1(TRST) -----> Pin 10(GND)

CRAZY!!!!

I was able to flash the uff11 and ubf12 with forceware.

Also, I noted that ONLY one led remains on. I guess this has something to do with the firmware.

Thanks 4 reading
