connect the box question

i had 2 dcts that would not work. did connect the box. both boxes now have analog only. i understand that they should have digitals plus premiums that were previously auth by xc chip. am i doing something wrong during the connect the box procedure?

here are the steps i am using.

reset 1
init
getram 200000 40000
connect the box
ldram 200000
select a nvram from a working box w/ some digi & hbo starz encore
setram 200000 40000
exit

any help would be appreciated

one box says one moment please this channel should be available shortly, the other box says nothing, analog channels, but no menu, no tv guide, no one moment please.

Did you purchase these boxes off EBay OR are they from your local service area. It doesn't sound like these are local boxs.

THe connect the box feature ONLY works if the box is from the same service area you are in. Then you can download the Nvram, do connect the box, and reupload with out a problem.

i have the ability to obtain a dct every now and then, the one w the analog and the tv guide etc came from my area, the one w analog and no tv guide etc came from a nearby area, less than 15 miles, but a slightly different system. when u say download and reupload, you mean download from the dct i'm connecting, connect the box, then reupload the same nvram that i just downloaded, right or wrong?
