Ok...I found the problem. My cable company uses 2244/1661 and 2224 1661's. So, the uplink is agile. I guess this is decided, not by a chip, but by the firmware. So, back to FleaBay. It will be too much of a hassle to buy one from friends. Either they will show up as need to be returned or hot. Don't want that kind of attention if I ever decide to Sub for SPI. Thank's for the help guys.

If it's decided by the firmware then wouldn't replacing the firmware fix the problem?

The firmware in the BCM7015 controls the tuners OOB frequency. (Earlier post)

I would suggest you try some pawn shops, I got 2 local boxes really cheap from them. Just phone in the GI number before you buy it to make sure its not a rental, this way you can sub if you want to.

10-4. I am searching fleabay. Most of the pawn shop's around here have a deal made out with the local CC. If I can find one, I'd be suprised. Guess it couldn't hurt. But, in the mean time...fleabay, then resale if it's not a 1661
