Ok...I found the problem. My cable company uses 2244/1661 and 2224 1661's. So, the uplink is agile. I guess this is decided, not by a chip, but by the firmware. So, back to FleaBay. It will be too much of a hassle to buy one from friends. Either they will show up as need to be returned or hot. Don't want that kind of attention if I ever decide to Sub for SPI. If it's decided by the firmware then wouldn't replacing the firmware fix the problem?

I would suggest you try some pawn shops, I got 2 local boxes really cheap from them. Just phone in the GI number before you buy it to make sure its not a rental, this way you can sub if you want to.

10-4. I am searching fleabay. Most of the pawn shop's around here have a deal made out with the local CC. If I can find one, I'd be suprised. Guess it couldn't hurt. But, in the mean time...fleabay, then resale if it's not a 1661
