ph8 powers off after any command

Post by ntek »

i got a ph8 board giving me problems. if i try to use any command i will hear it click off or reset. when i enter the command getram code it looks like it is downloading but i'm still getting all zeros in the code window. i've tried flipping the jtag connector around and also tried using a different PC.

First issue command
reset 1
You should see RPC=0000468.
If not you need to check the connection of Pin1.

Make sure you see testing menu to make sure the dll is used.
Then "init" command to initialize the chip set.

even if A7 = 00000000 ? i dont think everything in the top box should be reading all zeros. Also under ram and nvram tabs i have all zeros, so i KNOW its not downloading from the box. maybe because my software says "not activated"?

RPC should be 468. What is the value of RPC?

thats the thing, it doesnt give me RPC it just outputs "-R" after i issue the "reset 1" command. the code output tab looks exactly like this:

-R
Copyright http://usbjtag.com 2008,2009,2010
Do not use this software if your product is not copyright http://www.usbjtag.com
-reset 1
-R

another thing i noticed is that when i goto the tools menu and then to config the target always changes back to DP501P. not sure if that is normal or not.

Which version are you using?
You should see a memory view.
Can you cut and paste your screen shot?

If you read back in his posts the software is not activated. Either he has not entered his activation code, or doesn't have an activation code or is using a different manufacturer usbjtag which is not compatible with the software.

If you use USB BDM, use BDM software.
IF you use USB BDM NT use 0.27a and select DCT2224 software.
If you use USB JTAG (NT) it will not work with your system.

Please also note, for BDM devices after reset 1 your device is under the control of the software (PC), thus the box looks "dead" until you issue command to run (g).

Your software is not activated. Reason could be
1. You did not get activation key.
2. You are using USB JTAG NT hardware.

yea i entered the activation code..... i was going to upload the screenshot of that too, but i didnt want to make that info public to everyone. when i installed the software, i installed it onto a offline computer. so i figured if i connected the computer to the internet it would activate the next time i ran USBBDM NT.. but still says not activated. maybe i have to uninstall everything and reinstall it while the PC is online?

Try to copy and paste the activation code and email address from the email you received. Don't type it by hand. And it should work.
