i am sorry to say but if u cant flash a 5101 u will never whip a 5120 and as far as iknow there is no mod firmware for a 5120 here are the flashing info for a SB5101 just plug in the first 10 pins pin 1 is the square one
Select SB5101 in the comfig tab copy and paste the following CMDS and address select speed 2
It is recommended you make a backup before flashing haxorware (or any other hacked firmware) onto your modem.
To create a 2MB backup , enter the following commands:
detect
getram 9fc00000 200000
cmpram 9fc00000 200000
save 9fc00000 200000
(A save as dialog will appear, choose where to save your 2MB backup)

To program haxorware to your modem, issue the following commands:
detect
ldram 9fc10000
A File Open dialog will appear, find the haxorware firmware file you want (haxorware11rev39-LITE.bin) and click open
program 9fc10000 130000

After the flashing is complete, reboot your modem and enjoy Haxorware

NEVER DO HOT PLUG. You will kill the JTAG if you do hot plug. That means if you have DCT700 on and try to connect 14 pins. In the manual pdf it is printed in RED.

Always connect JTAG first with both USB unplugged and DCT700 (target) powered off. With DCT700 on and connect JTAG and you have the formula to kill DCT700 or JTAG NT.
