You connect the wires as you would an SB6120. ISP is Not known ATM so you will need to Supply 3.3 to 5 Volts to pin 2 By External Means...ramses18 wrote:anyone know how to program a sb6180? any help would be apreciated thanks.

LMFAO, I was not referring to Internet Service Provider, LOL It seam you have very little Knowledge of working with SPI Flash Modems. If someone ask you What is your ISP, Then they want to Know your Internet Service Provider. When talking about Modem Like the SB6120 ISP Is a totally Different Thing.ramses18 wrote:my isp is tw. can i program it with apha or force?. thanks for reply.
Have you even seen the Pictures of how to properly wire the USbJtag NT to an SB6120 Modem? There you will see a Picture of the ISP Point. Thats what I was referring to.

No, it has a broadcom based cpu. If it were 4 channel bonding that would mean it's TI based but it has 8 channel downstream bonding so it has a broadcom CPU.
Utilizing the power of DOCSIS® 3.0, the SB6180 enables channel bonding of up to 8 downstream channels and 4 upstream channels, - motorola website

Modem Support: SB6120, SBV6220, ZOOM5431, SMCD3GN, DPC3000, U10C035 (Should work on more, let me know if you try)
Best thing you can do is Make a Good Back Up then try it. Worst case it will not work and you will have to write back the Original Firmware. So rather then asking if it will or will not Work, Test it your selfs and find out. After all thats why its called TESTING.

You can cut one end of a USB wire and use the Black (Ground) and Red (Positive) Or you can also Use an External Plug in power Supply of no more than 5 Volts and cut the End off. You will need to ID which one will be the Positive Voltage. Usually the Red wire is always Used as the Positive Voltage Wire.rickanie wrote:What do you use or recommend to be used for this particular device ( SB 6180) an an external power source that ramses is talking about?
