Some do Some Don't. Not sure you Can Firgure Out which Do by they Model Number. Whats Important Is the BCM Chip. Some have BCM3348 Same as Sb5100 and Some BCM3349 Same as SB5101. You need to Know So you Program The Correct Firmware.

Sorry to drag up an old post. Are we able to cross dump these modems to a surfboard using the same chip? I thought I read a post a while back saying we could. I tried to write a dpc2100 with 3349 2mb dump to a sb5101 with a 3349 and bricked it. No lights came on. I managed to debrick it so its not a problem but I was hoping to cross dump it.

LOL It works 150% and your Modem Was Not Briocked. The Boot Loader is different there fore you dont get the Lights. Correcting this is Very Simple. Just Program an Original Sb5101 Bootloader and you Lights will Be Back to Normal with the DPC2100 Flash BackUps. The same thing hapens if you Program an SB5101 BackUp to a DPC2100, In order to correct the Lights you Need to Original Modem BootLoader. ;)

Tundra it is not working for me and I don't know why. I program the 2mb dpc2100 to my 5101(both have same chip 3349) then i detect and ldram boot, erase boot and program boot with a good bootload for sb5101. I get same no lights and modem is usually bricked. It detects fine but I have to poke it in order to get it to program again. I know my bootloader is not corrupt.

u use the 5101 2 mb dump on the 2100 then flash the
stock 2100 boot on the 2100 or u can just flash Hax on the 2100
3349 chip it has the nosiy boot loader already

on the 2100 with 3348 u flash with 5100mod leave the boot
stock or flash with a 5100 2mb dump most 3348 dont have
a JTAG Port so u have to flash Serial

the lites dont work right with either 5100mod or Hax the rec lite
stay out the send and online are steady the pc lite works

im reverse but i understand what your saying. I am flashing a 2100 2mb dump to my sb5101 and both have 3349 chips. I then flash a sb5101 bootloader and i have tried a noisy 5101 bootloader and nothing works
no lights.

One = I never Use the Noisy Bootloader
Second = Is the DPC2100 A ABAckUp you Made from a Working Modem Or One you Downloaded from somewhere?

yes a back up i made, maybe the 2mb dumps are all corrupt, but I doubt all 10 are. It's possible I guess because I use the adaptor I bought from you tundra and pogo pins. That is not a shot at your adaptor, It's a shot at the pogo pins. The adaptor works great. I will flash it tomorror with no bootloader and see if the dump works with no lights. I know the original modems are in use. Maybe its this shitty sb5101E. I will try it with a reg 5101.

You can Visually Check the BackUps to see if there good. I solder the pins to MOBO So Who Knows How good those backUps are.
Try writing the BackUps to a DPC2100 And see Whast Happens. If it works then you will Know BackUp Is Good. So Far I never had an Issuse like that.

On the Moded DCP2100 Only One Light will remain OFF, On the Sb5101 All Light Will Work as Normal.

I think its bad bins. I saved the cfg from each and opened it with cmnonexpv1.1.1.exe and every cfg was loaded with errors.

When i open the 2 mb dump with jtagnt there are letters and numbers in the cfg area.
I will have to do what tundra says and buy a 2100r2 and test them out. It is not my isp, I was trying to help a friend and it's a pain to travel to his house to test.

Thanks for the suggestions/help guys!
